This Privacy Policy explains how G’day Roofers (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information. We are a free service that connects Australian homeowners with independent local roofing contractors. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using our website and submitting an enquiry, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy.

1. What information we collect

We may collect the following personal information:

• Contact details — your name, mobile number and email address.
• Project details — your postcode and the answers you give in our quiz about your roof and property (e.g. roof type, condition, the work you need and your timeframe).
• Verification & consent records — confirmation that you verified your mobile number, and a timestamped record of the consent you provided.
• Technical & usage data — your IP address, browser and device information, and identifiers from cookies and advertising tags (including Facebook/Meta cookies such as _fbp and _fbc).

2. How we collect it

We collect most information directly from you when you complete our enquiry form. We also collect some technical information automatically through cookies, pixels and similar technologies when you use our website (see “Cookies and tracking” below).

3. Why we collect and how we use it

We use your personal information to:

• match you with one or more suitable local roofing contractors;
• contact you (and enable contractors to contact you) by phone, SMS and email about your enquiry;
• verify your mobile number by sending a one-time code (OTP);
• send you a confirmation and service-related communications;
• measure, analyse and improve our website and advertising; and
• comply with our legal obligations and resolve disputes.

4. Who we share it with

We may disclose your personal information to:

• Partner roofing contractors — this is the primary purpose of our service. We share your enquiry details with the contractor(s) we match you with so they can prepare a quote and contact you.
• Service providers who help us operate, including Twilio (SMS), SendGrid/Twilio (email), Supabase (database hosting) and Meta/Facebook (advertising measurement).
• Authorities or third parties where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties.

5. Marketing and your consent

When you submit an enquiry you consent to being contacted by us and our partner roofing contractors by phone, SMS and email about your enquiry and related home-improvement offers, including by automated means. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, using the unsubscribe link in our emails, or contacting us at hello@gdayroofers.com.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and tracking technologies, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API, to understand how our ads perform and to improve them. These tools may set cookies and collect identifiers and technical data. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and your ad preferences with Meta. Disabling cookies may affect how the site works.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia (for example, in the United States). Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

8. How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encryption in transit, restricted access controls, and mobile verification to reduce fraudulent enquiries. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our service, comply with our legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at hello@gdayroofers.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

11. Complaints
